Review the edits, not just the final draft

Revise at revise.io is a browser document editor where AI proposes changes you can accept or reject individually. Import an existing document, ask for a specific revision, and inspect the changes in context. This profile concerns revise.io, not other products with the same name.

The official product page describes DOCX, PDF, Markdown and text workflows, revision history and real-time collaboration. It advertises importing and exporting common document formats, including Word and PDF. Complex layouts still deserve an export check; we have not tested formatting preservation.

Free editor and paid AI are separate

Current pricing, checked October 5, 2026: Free includes the editor and a daily built-in AI limit, with GPT-6 Luna only. Plus lists $8/month, no daily limit, smarter models and multi-step work; Pro lists $20/month, five times the monthly AI usage and broader capabilities. “No daily limit” does not mean unlimited monthly consumption: usage is metered, and Pro can optionally enable paid Extra Usage.

Revise also describes Claude and ChatGPT plugins that use your external subscription instead of its built-in allowance. Those subscriptions and their limits are separate. The presence of several model brands on the homepage is not a promise that every model is free. Check account model access, billing cadence and renewal terms before upgrading.

A useful editing workflow

  1. Use a document you have permission to upload; review sharing and privacy settings first.
  2. Ask for one defined pass: shorten an introduction, resolve reviewer comments or improve consistency.
  3. Inspect each proposed edit. Accept the changes that preserve meaning and reject unsupported additions.
  4. Export to your delivery format and check headings, tables, citations and tracked changes.

This is a suggested workflow, not a completed test. Do not treat an AI revision or suggested citation as fact-checked merely because it appears inside a document.

Who should consider it?

Consider it when a reviewable document revision matters more than a separate chat response. Skip or validate carefully when exact formatting compatibility, sensitive-document handling or a particular model is mandatory. A short authorized sample is a better acceptance test than a broad promise that it replaces your existing editor.
