Best AI Logo Generators 2026: 8 Options and Export Checks

A logo idea is not yet a usable brand asset. You may need a transparent PNG for the website, a vector file for print and a simple monochrome version for small displays. Start with the files you must deliver, then compare generators. The prettiest preview can still be the wrong purchase.

The short answer

Compare Looka and Brandmark for a dedicated logo-to-brand-kit workflow. Zarla and Shopify Logo Maker are useful free-entry alternatives, while Canva suits people who want to keep editing their wider brand materials. LogoAI uses a subscription-and-credit offer. Ideogram Vector adds editable SVG generation; Designs.ai is a broader creative alternative. Choose around the final files and editing workflow you need.

How to use this guide

We selected eight current logo or adjacent brand-creation options and checked primary sources on October 28, 2026. We did not conduct a visual-quality contest or legal clearance. Dedicated logo packages, vector generation and broader creative suites are compared as distinct workflows.

Use the shortlist by task. Table order is not a performance score. Product capabilities and plan terms come from the linked official sources; suitability and buying checks are our editorial judgments. Confirm current terms before purchasing.

Looka

Consider for: Dedicated logo and brand-kit exploration

Looka combines logo creation with brand-kit products.

Source: Looka product page

The pricing page distinguishes a basic PNG package from Premium exports including PNG, EPS, SVG and PDF. Exact current charges should be checked in the selected offer.

Designing a logo and downloading the finished files are separate steps. Compare a one-time logo package with an annual brand-kit subscription.

Brandmark

Consider for: A one-time logo purchase

Brandmark offers generated logo designs and associated branding assets.

Source: Brandmark product page

Basic is $35 once and includes PNG and vector files; Designer is $95 once and adds source files and brand assets.

Compare the package containing the source files and collateral you need. Inspect the actual artwork and any font requirements before production use.

Zarla

Consider for: A free file-export shortlist

Zarla’s logo maker generates designs from business and style information.

Source: Zarla product page

The logo-maker page advertises free, watermark-free SVG and high-resolution PNG downloads. Its website-builder pricing is a different product.

Source: current plan details

A free sign-in is required to download. Verify that the selected icon and type treatment are appropriate for your brand before adopting them.

Shopify Logo Maker

Consider for: A free starting point for a small business

Shopify provides a free logo-maker tool; the old Hatchful address now leads to this product.

Inspect the exact files offered by the current tool. Do not assume an old Hatchful walkthrough describes today’s editor or download package.

Canva

Consider for: Editing a logo alongside other brand materials

Canva offers a logo editor with templates and broader design tools.

Check which elements and exports require a paid plan. Review the licence for the actual assets used; a stock element is not automatically exclusive to your brand.

LogoAI

Consider for: An ongoing logo and brand-asset workflow

LogoAI provides logo creation and related branding tools.

Source: LogoAI product page

The pricing page advertises a $10 seven-day trial that renews at $20 per month unless cancelled; the paid plan includes 500 monthly credits.

Its current offer is not simply an old one-time logo price. Check the subscription, credit charges and files delivered by your chosen workflow.

Ideogram Vector

Consider for: Generating or converting editable SVG artwork

Ideogram Vector supports text-to-SVG generation and conversion of existing images into editable vectors.

The broader Ideogram Plus subscription is listed at $20 monthly or $15 per month equivalent, billed $180 annually, with 2,400 priority credits. Vector API usage has a separate rate card.

Inspect the generated shapes, lettering and small-size legibility in your editing software. Vector output still needs design review and does not establish an exclusive brand identity.

Designs.ai

Consider for: Brand concepts within a broader creative suite

Designs.ai presents a multi-format creative workflow rather than only a standalone logo purchase.

Looka alternatives: compare the deliverable

Brandmark is a direct shortlist if you prefer a one-time package. Zarla and Shopify Logo Maker are worth checking when the budget for the initial logo is zero. Canva can make sense when the same person will also produce presentations and social graphics. The cheapest initial offer is not always the cheapest way to obtain all required files.

Do not compare a general image model’s subscription with a completed vector identity as if they were the same purchase. If the output is a raster concept, allow time for cleanup, lettering and a usable vector version.

A small-business logo acceptance checklist

  • Small size: read the mark at favicon or social-avatar size.
  • Monochrome: verify that the shape works without a gradient or background effect.
  • File package: inspect transparent PNG and a suitable vector format when required.
  • Typography: confirm spelling, spacing and access to the typeface you will use elsewhere.
  • Editability: check whether the source can be modified when the name or tagline changes.

Open the downloaded files in the software your printer or designer will use. A file extension alone is not evidence that every component remains editable. Keep the original export and a note of the licence in force when it was downloaded.

An original brief you can reuse

Illustrative brief: “Create a simple identity for a fictional repair shop called Northline Repair. It must remain readable on a work shirt and a small website header, work in one colour and avoid tiny mechanical detail. Provide an icon-only and a name-plus-icon direction.”

This is an editorial briefing example, not a tool-generated result. Use the same constraints across candidates. Record which one can produce the required files without extensive manual reconstruction rather than judging only a large mockup on a glossy background.

Commercial use is different from trademark clearance

Read the terms for the tool, fonts and stock assets you actually use. An export licence and the ability to register or defend a mark are different questions. Do not assume that paying for a logo makes its components exclusive.

Before adopting a brand, check relevant existing marks and seek appropriate advice when necessary. The USPTO trademark search resource is one starting point for US searches; it is not a global clearance service. We did not conduct trademark searches for any generated logo in this guide.

Choose the smallest useful purchase

A one-time logo package can be enough if the design is settled and you only need the files. A recurring design subscription makes more sense when you will also produce presentations, campaign graphics or repeated brand variations. Include cleanup time and any separate font or asset needs in the cost.

For general images and concept development, use our AI image generator guide. For a final business identity, the next step is to inspect files and permissions, not to generate indefinitely.

Frequently asked questions

Which AI logo generator is completely free?

Zarla’s current logo page advertises free SVG and high-resolution PNG downloads after sign-in. Shopify also offers a free logo maker. Verify the current download package and asset conditions before adopting the result.

Does Looka let me download a logo for free?

Its public pricing separates free design exploration from paid logo packages and brand-kit subscriptions. Check the selected package for the required files.

Is Hatchful still available?

The old Hatchful address currently redirects to Shopify Logo Maker. Use the current product page rather than assuming the previous editor and packages are unchanged.

Can an AI logo be trademarked?

That depends on the actual mark, applicable rules and potential conflicts. Neither an AI-generated preview nor a commercial-use licence alone establishes trademark clearance.

Do I need SVG?

A vector format is useful when the logo must scale for print or remain editable. You may also need transparent PNG files for everyday web use. Verify the actual contents of the export.
