Best AI Product Video Tools 2026: Still Images to Selling Clips

Compare Creatify, HeyGen, Runway and Canva when the job is a short product video built from still images or a URL. The buying unit is the rendered clip, and the constraints that decide whether a clip can be published are length, resolution, watermark and avatar rights.

Direct answer: choose by whether you need an actor or a scene

Shortlist Creatify when you want an ad-style clip with a presenter and a product link, HeyGen when the presenter is the product, Runway when you need generated motion rather than a talking head, and Canva when the clip is assembled from templates inside a design workflow. The first two meter by avatar and template, the third by generative credits, and the fourth by a shared suite allowance.

This is a documentation-verification guide. Plan names, allowances and length caps below are quoted from each vendor's own pricing page on the check date. We have not rendered the same product in all four tools, so no quality ranking or conversion claim is made.

How this shortlist was selected

Four candidates were kept because they represent four different ways of producing a product clip: an ad-template system with AI actors, an avatar video platform, a generative video model, and a design suite. Tools whose clip pricing could not be read from a public pricing page without an account were left out.

Ad-style clips with AI actors

Creatify

The free plan documents 10 monthly credits, up to 2 video ads or 20 image ads, 300 AI actors and watermarked exports.

Best for
Short product ads built from a product URL
Check first
That free exports carry a watermark
Limitations
The free plan is documented with 10 monthly credits and watermarked exports, and the video duration cap rises from two minutes on Starter to ten on Pro.
Where this fits and when to skip

The free tier is unusually well documented for an ad tool, which makes it a genuine evaluation. Read the video duration row: two minutes on Starter and ten on Pro is the constraint that decides whether the clip can carry a full product story.

Presenter-led product video

HeyGen

The free plan documents 3 videos per month up to 1 minute, Avatar IV access, 500+ stock video avatars, 1 custom video avatar and 30+ languages.

Best for
A talking-presenter clip without filming anyone
Check first
That the free plan limits video to one minute
Limitations
The free plan is documented as three videos per month up to one minute each, with watermark removal listed from the Creator plan upward.
Where this fits and when to skip

The free plan is a real evaluation of the avatar pipeline, not just a demo: it includes one custom video avatar and access to Avatar IV. The one-minute cap and the export resolution are the two lines to read before planning a series.

Generated motion for products

Runway

Runway prices generations in credits by model and duration, with paid plans metered monthly and a free tier of 125 one-time credits.

Best for
Producing movement that was never filmed
Check first
The credit cost per model before spending the allowance
Limitations
Credits are consumed per generation at a rate that varies by model and duration, so the same balance buys very different amounts of output.
Where this fits and when to skip

This is the option to choose when the product video needs motion that cannot be filmed — a camera move, a transformation, a scene that does not exist. It is also the hardest to budget, because the cost per clip varies by model.

Template-led product clips

Canva

The free plan includes the editor and a shared allowance of up to 20 Standard or Premium AI uses, with image-to-video and video generation in Premium and Ultra tiers.

Best for
Assembling a product clip inside a design workflow
Check first
How quickly the shared AI allowance is consumed
Limitations
AI video features draw on a shared suite allowance, and several are Premium or Ultra tier, so the video capability is not unlimited on any tier.
Where this fits and when to skip

Canva is the pragmatic choice when the product video is one asset in a campaign that also needs thumbnails, posts and a landing page. The trade-off is that every AI video generation competes for the same allowance as the rest of the design work.

Four AI product video options compared

Creatify: ad-style clips with ai actors

Creatify's FAQ states that the Free Plan includes 10 monthly credits, that this allows up to two video ads or twenty image ads, and that it includes access to 300 AI actors, ten premium AI models and forty ad templates. It adds that exports include a watermark.

Paid tiers are Starter at $39 per month for 100 credits and Pro at $99 per month for 300 credits, with credit packs up to 5,000 and an enterprise tier on request. The comparison table lists watermark removal, 1,500 AI actors and 100+ premium models on Pro, against 300 actors and 50+ models on Starter.

The length cap is the practical limit. Starter is documented at up to two minutes per video and Pro at up to ten minutes, and seats rise from one on Starter to five on Pro. For a short social ad the Starter cap is ample; for a product walkthrough it is not.

When to skip: if you need a watermark-free export at no cost, or a clip longer than two minutes on the entry paid tier.

HeyGen: presenter-led product video

HeyGen's pricing page describes the Free plan at $0 per month as including three videos per month, videos up to one minute, access to Avatar IV, standard video processing, 500+ stock video avatars, one custom video avatar and 30+ languages. Watermark removal is listed as a Creator-plan feature rather than a free one.

Creator is $29 per month with 600 credits, videos up to thirty minutes, 1080p export, unlimited photo avatars, voice cloning and 175+ languages. Pro is $49 per month with 1,000 credits, videos up to thirty minutes, 4K export and access to advanced models.

For a product video the relevant reading is that the free tier gives you the avatar technology but caps both the length and the export resolution. A one-minute clip at the free tier's export setting is enough to judge whether the presenter looks acceptable, and not enough to publish.

When to skip: if you need a watermark-free export, a clip longer than one minute, or 4K output. All three sit above the free tier.

Runway: generated motion for products

Runway's pricing page publishes a credit cost per generation that differs by model, expressed as credits per five seconds, alongside an image cost per generation. The paid plans are metered monthly — Standard at $12 per month billed yearly with 625 credits, Pro at $28 with 2,250 credits and Max at $76 with 9,500 credits — while the free tier is 125 one-time credits.

Because the model determines the cost, the same monthly allowance produces a very different number of finished clips depending on model choice. The pricing page helpfully converts its credit grants into seconds of output per model, which is the figure to use when budgeting rather than the raw credit count.

The paid tiers also list capabilities that change what is possible: Pro adds top-up credits, unlimited 4K video upscaling and a custom voice clone, while Standard lists no watermarks and 4K upscaling. Check which of those your workflow depends on before treating the credit grant as the only difference.

When to skip: if your clip is a straightforward edit of existing footage. A generative model is the wrong tool when the material already exists.

Canva: template-led product clips

Canva's pricing page lists the Free plan at US$0 with the editor, 1.6M+ templates and a shared AI allowance described as up to 20 uses of Standard or Premium AI. The feature table places Generate designs, elements and videos with Canva AI and Image to Video in the Premium AI tier, and Create high-quality video clips with Canva AI in the Ultra AI tier, which free does not include.

Pro is listed at US$6.50 per month billed yearly and is described as having ten times more AI than Free, with an AI Pass add-on available at extra cost. Business is US$9.50 per person per month with twenty times more AI.

The practical implication for product video is that the AI generation step is metered while the editing step is not. Building a clip from uploaded product photos, text and transitions does not consume the allowance; generating new imagery or video with AI does.

When to skip: if your product video depends on generative AI scenes rather than editing. Those generations draw on a shared allowance that is quickly consumed.

How to choose a product video tool

Decide first whether the clip needs a presenter. If it does, an avatar platform or an ad-template tool is the right category, and the questions become avatar rights, voice rights and length. If it does not, a generative model or a design suite is a better fit and the questions become credits and export settings.

Then read the length cap and the export resolution together. A plan that allows a ten-minute clip at a resolution your platform rejects is not usable, and a plan that allows 4K but caps the clip at one minute is not usable for a longer story. Both figures are published.

Finally, check who owns the avatar and the voice. Where a clip uses a stock avatar, confirm the commercial terms that apply to that avatar. Where it uses a cloned voice or a custom avatar, confirm what happens to those assets if you stop paying.

A short verification you can run

Use one real product and the exact aspect ratio you publish in. This is a proposed verification design, not a completed comparative test.

  1. Render at your real length and ratio. A short square test will not reveal a length cap or a framing problem.
  2. Check the product for fidelity. Look for altered logos, invented text, warped geometry or colour drift on the product itself.
  3. Watch the whole clip for artefacts. Check the joins, the lip sync and the transitions rather than the first two seconds.
  4. Download the delivered file. Confirm resolution, duration and the presence or absence of a watermark in the file, not the preview.
  5. Record the credit cost. Work out the cost per finished clip, including any re-renders, before comparing plans.

Pricing and free-plan limits

Creatify Free is $0 with 10 monthly credits and watermarked exports; Starter is $39 per month for 100 credits and Pro $99 for 300. HeyGen Free is $0 with three videos a month up to one minute each; Creator is $29 per month for 600 credits and Pro $49 for 1,000.

Runway's free tier is 125 one-time credits, with paid plans from $12 per month billed yearly for 625 credits to $76 for 9,500, all metered per generation by model. Canva Free is $0 with a shared 20-use AI allowance, and Pro from US$6.50 per month billed yearly with ten times more AI.

Compare on cost per accepted clip, not cost per credit. Credits are priced differently across these tools and consumed at different rates, and a cheaper credit is not cheaper output if the model you need costs more per second.

Limits and when to skip a free plan

Skip the free tier when exports carry a watermark, when the clip exceeds the documented length cap, when the export resolution is below what the platform requires, or when the allowance is a one-time grant and your need is recurring. Each of these is a published boundary.

Also check the avatar and voice terms rather than only the credits. A stock avatar may carry its own usage conditions, and a custom avatar or cloned voice may be tied to the subscription. Those conditions determine whether the clip can be used commercially, which is a more consequential question than the price.

Re-verify before committing. Product video pricing changes frequently, and the figures here carry the check date printed on the page.

Build a repeatable acceptance checklist

Before publishing a product clip, check that the product is represented accurately, that any claim on screen is one you can support, that the aspect ratio and duration match each destination, and that the audio levels are consistent. Keep the source images and the prompt or template with the accepted render.

Keep one accepted clip per product category as a reference. When a plan or model changes, re-render the reference clip first, so a regression is caught before it reaches a campaign.

Frequently asked questions

Can I make a product video for free?

All four tools here offer a free entry point, but each withholds something: Creatify watermarks free exports, HeyGen caps free video at one minute, Runway grants one-time credits rather than a monthly allowance, and Canva meters AI video inside a shared allowance.

How long can a generated product clip be?

It depends on the plan. HeyGen's free tier is documented at one minute with Creator and Pro at thirty minutes, and Creatify's video duration is listed as up to two minutes on Starter and ten on Pro. Check the cap before planning a script.

Do I need a real person to appear in the video?

Not necessarily. Avatar platforms generate a presenter from a stock or custom avatar, and generative models produce motion without a person at all. If a real person must appear, confirm the consent and likeness terms that apply to that footage.

How should I compare credit prices across these tools?

Convert everything to the cost of one finished clip. Credits are consumed at different rates per model and per second, so the headline price per credit does not indicate the cost per published video.

Is this a performance ranking of product video tools?

No. The comparison is built from published pricing and plan documentation. The verification steps are proposed editorial guidance, not a completed comparative test, and no conversion or engagement result is claimed.
